Guest milkyway Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 Hi bought galaxy 2.8 V6 (p reg) couple of weeks ago, I have problems with it running. It was over fueling and miss firing, after some help from the guys off here and changing all the leads and plugs and also the mass air sensor the car runs without missing but is still running like a bag of s***.. it has a roar coming from the air box when i put my foot down and seems hesitant (no power) and it still smells a little rich when running.. Any ideas guys,, any help would be great... oh and i checked the coolant temp sensor and it is working fine.. the car is the same no matter the temp of the engine.... CheersChris Quote

CheersChrispossible partial blocked exhaust, if there has been a missfire / overfuel this will break down the cat ,parts come off and travel through the exhaust untill they get to a bend where they get stuck this cause a blockage (duh) and strangles the engine a quick test is to get some one to rev the engine while you go to the back of the car and test how much pressure there is coming out of the exhaust ( mind it can get very hot) you could also drop the exhaust off the manifold's and see if it runs any better (although its very noisey this way) Quote
sepulchrave Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 Ok Chris, you need VAG-COM...whereabouts in the country are you located, there may be a member nearby with VAG-COM who can help. I am near Brighton on the South coast if that helps. I suspect that your lambda probe may be U/S but can't be sure, the roaring airbox worries me though. Quote
