Guest arlamp Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 Just put the wife's Galaxy in for its 4th service. Never really had any problems with it (a great family car), although last year they changed the N/S link stabilisation rod, which I thought nothing of, as it wasn't costing me anything at the time. The car went into the service with no known problems.Anyway the car was delivered back home, and as it's the wife's car it wasn't driven for a few days. The first time I drove it, there was a loud knocking noise at the front of the car. Also the aircon unit flashed when the ignition was switched to RUN. I lifted the bonnet to see if there was anything obvious. Found the following things:Oil cap left lying in the engine bayBolt holding down aircon pipe to compressor and condensor partly unscrewed allowing the pipe to waggle around.Bolt missing from plastic engine cover underneath, allowing that part to rattle too. None of these were obvious things leading to the problems I was experiencing, but as far as I'm concerned they are all things pointing to shoddy workmanship. I contacted the dealer and got the car booked in. They rang me to tell me the link stablisation rod was buggered, but they couldn't tell me what was wrong with the aircon until they re-charged the system, costing me Quote
