Heating Inside The Car

Hi,

 

I have just got my a Ford Mondeo MK2, and whilst i was testing the heating inside the car i found that the air-con is brill (it had just been regassed), but the heating is terrible. It took about 1/2 hour to start to get warm. I have been told to change the thermostat but i don't know how to do that and is that right?! Can anyone help??!
