NikpV Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 Here you go then - PC under heavy load Hotfix required This specifically applies to windows server 2003 not to xp but It might be well if you checked that your xp installation is up to date with the hotfixes. I know you upgraded to sp2 a few weeks back, have you installed all the hotfixs for sp2 yet? I note from the page that this is specifically when browser windows are open - you had at least 3 (if not more) given your info, it appears that windows tries to access some memory which is present in your swap file (paged out) - this appears to be related to the issues you had last time. It looks more and more like issues with your swap file on disk, the hard drive or the memory that the swap file has been written back to. Quote

NikpV Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 You should be able to use microsoft update on microsoft site to keep your sp2 installation up to date with all of the hotfixs - how did you upgrade to sp2 ? Here you go - try this link Microsoft update you will need to install their active x (alternative is a pain and I can't remember the javascript) and as long as you have a legal copy of windows it should automatically update you. Then we wait again Quote
mumof4 Posted May 25, 2006 Author Report Posted May 25, 2006 I downloaded it off the microsoft site after installing sp1 Quote
NikpV Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 Did it have many to catch up with ? I suggest you then run it until the next error turns up although I was speaking to a friend who had similar problems but he said they went away after fixing his swap file size (virtual memory) rather than allowing windows to control it dynamically - note I said went away after I did not say cure it. NikNak Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Hi all, was just doing a search on 'Towbars' when i stumbled across this thread/posting. Just to give my sixpenteth, i use this website whenever i have pc problems...... http://castlecops.com/forums.html I also had the dreaded blue screen of death a copuple of weeks ago, with the same code i.e. IRQ-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL. Turned out i had deleted an Adobe file no longer wanted/required, and it managed to take something else along with it, enabling (or not as in my case) the pc to start. Give 'em a go...... cracking peeps...!! Nick. Quote
