hey there.

I was just wondering whether anyone knew what relay was for what....

96 sharan, 2.8 Auto: The cruise control and electric mirrors dont work, but the fuse- (number 14, 15amp) looks ok. Any ideas on the relevent relay? I can get a picture if you want. (it also says the same fuse (number 14) is responsible for reversing lights; electric outside mirrors; Auto gearbox shift pattern; cruise control system; heated windscreen.

99 Galaxy 1.9tdi: Cigarette lighter has stopped working (both power supplys in the back still work) checked the fuse (number 7 i think, yellow, 20 amp) looks fine and still replaced it but it still dont work

One other thing, the sharan (about to sell) has a SONY6 disc cd thingy. The galaxy has the standard ford stereo (2007 model) which says CD COMPATIBLE. I was wondering whether the ford's stereo would recognise the sony cd multichanger and how i would go about installing it. Any comments?

Thanks for any help!

the fuse card and the fuses on my galaxy do not match up! it's a matter of methodically pulling and checking each one till you find the one at fault! not exactly technical i know but hey what can you do the monkey at ford put the wrong fuse card in!!

Dont know about the fuses,,,,,,,,,but there is an adapter to change the sony cd multi plug to a ford multi plug,,,,any good ICE shop will get it for you

urm sorry about this but whats an ICE shop?

Does a sony CD changer need three wires going to it? one for power, one for the sound and one to control which track/cd to play....any idea?

Mr Poisson: so can i pull out the relays? will it show any sign of damage (i.e will it be obvious thats its blown)?

but whats an ICE shop

in car entertainment

even halfrauds stock this kind of thing, although I wouldn't describe them as a ICE shop - tautology :(

I blew the fuse in my cig lighter a couple of weeks ago when I went to pick my wheels up.

I was using a double adapter on it for my TomTom Mobile and Nokia 9500 and it just shorted it. :(

Unfortunately i blew it straight away...doh.

Had a look at the fuse chart and couldn't locate it?

I noticed some fuses at the top of the fuse box on the left, double stacked.

No idea what they did or go to.

So after checking noticed one was a 25A fuse and it was blown.

Replaced it and cig now works. :(

So give that a go, might be the same.

urm, i tried to pull out fuse number 7, as the handbook said that was for the cig lighter, but couldn't pull it out- the're too close together for me to get a good enuf grip....

which car have u got? any idea which fuse number you changed?

Long nose pliers, tweezers etc should do it.

Also I did the same as you and that fuse was ok?

Hence looking elsewhere, I knew it had gone as I heard it go.

Then I found those fuses at the top and there it was :(

redundant wording I was implying that most of what halfrauds sell - at least round here is ICE products and appears to be getting worse. Other examples would be 'lonely isolation' they mean the same thing so one is redundant

Reading this post solved my cigar lighter issues. Front cigar not working and both rear luggage power sockets not working. A group of four fuses hidden at the top left of fuse box 20a yellow fuse extreme right of these blown. Changed to new one all 3 sockets work now, maybe that was the elusive fuse 30.

Keep up the good posts.

Rear power supply fuses are located under the drivers seat on mine.
