I shall be very interested to see how this works out.

Have thought about buying off Ebay but something tells me not to.

The fact that you got it for around

like anything on ebay its a risk on the buyer, but having read there me page they do seem honest and at the end of the day if you went to see the car and it didnt fulfill expectations you wouldnt part with your hard earned,i recently sold a shogun on ebay for a mate and the buyer came from up country to us(south coast)to do the deal,i did send him quite a few photos of it and he was well pleased, its an honesty thing.

i can see why you show concern BRUV   i would aswell about the aircon but they seem to be online car dealers

hope youve got the bargain your dreaming of

This bit has me worried for you....

CLIMATE CONTROL / AIRCON (REQUIRES REGAS)

Q: hi how do you know the air con only needs regassing, and its not the compressor packed up thanks

A: becaues the garage the garage told me but hay at this price who cares if it is the compressornever seen one this cheep cheers kel

I think that someone will care greatly if it is the compressor and if the seller is serious about this THIS CAR WILL ALSO COME WITH A 3 MONTH WARRANTY. ... then he wont be smiling very much but I would suspect his warranty to be VERY limited.

Surely if he was serious about the warranty he would have already re-gassed the aircon

I look at Galaxys all the time on ebay...just looking mind!!!!...No matter how many questions you ask, pictures you get,.....Nothing puts your mind at ease untill you have seen the car up close and given it a test drive.

He did state that while the auction was running that you could view the car.

Bargain price yes, beautiful car yes(biased coz its the same as mine!)But i personally would have viewed the car before i bid.Judging by your feedback score, you arent a newbie to ebay so you know all the risks involved!!

So when you do see the car..IF you change your mind......your in for a npb strike!

I hope that the car is as good as it sounds...But to have the carpet replaced????It may be nothing as i have the same colour interior and i know how filthy it can get and every single mark shows up...that could be a reason why it was replaced..i would have asked if this was so

Well...you did ask for our opinions..but at the end of the day...I hope that you are happy with your new Gal and that all is ok!

your in for a npb strike

Whilst I have 100% feedback on ebay and no npb I wouldn't worry about a npb strike and -ve feedback in this case - a car is too expensive and complicated to make a 100% judgement from text & pictures. How about suggesting to the seller that you will pay for the re-gas (before you pick it up and getting him to have it done so you can check the aircon when you pickup

I myself dont woryy about feedback or strikes..i was merely pointing out what could happen.

I think your idea is a sound one re getting the seller to re-gas

I would not be too worried as the guy is a trader with good feedback so they buyer has protection in law. Just because it has been bought on eBay does not mean your consumer rights cease to exist.

thing is the old man works for ford and brother works for merc. Now thw 1.9 tdi engine also fitted to loads of mercs so aircon pump aint a problem. Regassing also aint a problem as every merc seems to has aircon so it already booked in for a freebie on that. But with warrenty you cant go wrong. they usually only cover major parts only no battery clutch brakes in fact 95% only seem to cover the engine and drive train am i correct
