Guest legacy4cam Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Recent checks show my wife's Galaxy is only returning 37MPG. It is a 130bhp 1.9 tdi, and has a new MAF, filters and no sticky brakes. The management light has not been on so I am loathe to give it to the stealers, only to be told it is OK since the ECU cant see a fault. Quote
Marky Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 I get about 33 mpg....mostly around town with a farly heavy boot !Averages about 45mpg on a motorway run at a steady 70(ish)! Quote
Guest legacy4cam Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 Sorry, hit wrong key and didn't finish the post. Can any of you suggest possible reasons for the drop in economy, it used to return nearly 50 regularly. Forgot to say, it is not smoky nor is it leaking fuel anywhere. Quote
buford_t_justice Posted May 15, 2006 Report Posted May 15, 2006 kind of obvious questions but: (1) any changes in normal places of driving? (2) checked your tyre pressures? Quote

"computer says no" :D By my calculations..... 130 bhp injectors have larger holes than 90 bhp injectors so only get 90/130ths of the fuel consumption... :D NB :D This is another frivilous SK reply and should not be taken as gospel.......
