My sisters galaxy 115 tdi is playing her up again. she has a poor performance thing going on somewhere. (She's up from cornwall for 2 days-ish)

I tried unplugging the MAF and it goes gutless. (just like when the fault occurs) Her problems seem to start after the car has warmed up, when it suddenly loses grunt. If she switches off the engine - and restarts (yep she's acquired the ill advised knack of doing it on the straight while moving) it clears for a while.

Now the last problem she had (wiring loom fault) we could'nt help her out with - so she's been suffering this in silence, and is a wee bit dubious about trying again, but I have every faith that this one can be resolved via this forum :)

I had intended to try the MAF in my 02 reg (in her Y reg) but for some reason the 2 tamper-proof screws used to retain the electronics part in the ducting have been changed from a 6 point torx to a five point "torx?" would anyone know what these 5 point torx heads are called?

Vacuum leak. Check pipes and connections.(easier said than done :) ) The vacuum operates the turbo boost (via the turbo control solenoid), if you don't have enough vacuum or its dodgy (intermittent or unstable) then the boost pressure can go out of range (picked up by the boost pressure sensor) and the the ECU trips into limp lettuce mode...

Too lazy to search?
