i wonder if anyone can tell me if i need a new engine 1996 n reg diesel galaxy

engine sounds very lumpy sounds like it s fireing on 3 great loss of power,max speed 60mph,smokes bluey black smoke lots of back pressure, smokes through dipstick, i have a turbo diesel mondeo engine 1.9 would this fit any help grateful

oor does anyone have a suitable engine to sell me in the worcs area or any garages in this area that do re con engines thanks

 

oh my engines uses lots of oil but not water also

It certainly sounds like the rings have gone, but a compression test would tell for sure.

 

Your Mondeo engine won't fit either, the Galaxy has a VW engine in it. It is however a fairly common engine.

is it easyer to change the engine because since you told me the rings has gone ive also told it could have crack head piston gone so all these jobe to been done would be just as expensive or could you tell more info
