Does anyone know where I can get hold of some replacement door panel clips (the yellow ones) as I have just broken half a dozen taking the trim paneloff!! Have tried Halfords but theirs are too small.

thanks.

It were me - I think!

The slots on the door panel look like the door panel should  slide vertically upwards.

Only discovered it myself after busting a clip and one of the slots on the door panel though

Cheers.

Oggy.

I Pulled 4 door panels off finding out why my rear speakers didn't work.

Only broke a couple of clips but got them from local Ford garage with a few extras as spares.

Just got me fingers behind them and pulled! Some were in tight but just Persevered.

Got there in the end without any damage.

Then did it again the following day replacing all the speakers for Hertz (Italian) ones.

Sounds gorgeous now!

Pretty sure the clips on the sides of the panel don't let the panel slide up-has to be carefully prised away from door starting at bottom corner-it also helps if it's a warm day as it seems to make clips softer to pull out of fixing holes

how about get the corner up and direct a hairdryer into the gap - may soften or make the plastic more elastic   ;) :D

Being an older model (96) I have mostly just plain holes in the door where the clips go into. There was one white plastic plug hole in one of the holes at the bottom of the door with a very strange clip that came out but wouldnt go back in. I will try Frauds to see how much they charge for the replacement yellow ones as they are much easier to use (and they can be used in the chairs - some of those are knackered as well)!!!!!.

Problem solved thanks to my local VW dealer. Same-ish price, 3.8 :( 0 for 20 (thats all he had). Door panels back on now and as solid as ever. (even managed to fix the loose seat panels that use the same clips and are always coming loose).

Just out of interest they are the same ones that hold the plastic trims on around the base of the rear 5 seats, just a different colour (on MK1's at least).

IIRC these are held on with screws under caps

hi stupid -- no not really

IIRC - if I remember correctly

Maybe later models, mine has 2 of these yellow door card clips on each trim panel ( 2 panel per seat)

Just replaced them last week!

You were right with the Hi Stupid tho' Ive only now read the full thread, and smudge.g has posted the same info, maybe they were changed later in production as they do seem rather weak, when I bought my Galaxy the seat trims were held on with duct tape!
