Drivers Window

Hi I have a wee problem with my drivers window,sometimes when I put it up or down it goes all they way then back to 1/2 open.If this makes sence any ideas b4 I take it too the dealers and they BS me?

does it ever come open when closing it using 'global closing' from outside the car, just wondered if the 'safety' feature is activating (based on the current in the motor) because of a tight runner for the window, may be marginal so only happens sometimes (this safety interlock is disabled when using global closing)

locking the door with the key, keep key turned hard over after locking, hold and all the windows will close as well (and load area windows if electric)

Had similar problem and lubricating window guides with silicone rubber spray appears to be helping at moment.

I would try silicone spray first too. You Can buy it from Halfords and other car shops.

I was having the same problem a few weeks ago.

 

When I checked the wiring from the doors into the door pillars there were quite a number of wires that needed taping around as they had split & were therefore shorting against each other.

 

Since doing this everything has been fine.
