Gteuk Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 While fixing one site I broke another <_> Someone has a vendeta against the Picasso site and causing problems, so as a precaution I renamed all the databases and login details but forgot to tell the forum files. I expected the forum files to be psychic but we not that advanced yet Quote

Guest neil_wiles Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 If it was from the Picasso site the trojan appeared then mumof4 is gonna scream she thought it was our site and was prepared to forgive the issue. Her PC died entirely this morning and it only happened after she tried to ask on the Picasso site if anyone knew what had happened. Ooops Quote

Guest Cepheus Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 from the bowls of merseyside!! Where abouts? I'm from the Wirral originally! Quote
Gteuk Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 I am only 10 minute drive from wirral, used to live in neston a long time ago. but my guess is M04 is in the dark underbelly of the otherside of the mersey  which is about 30 min drive if going through tunnel Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 I used to live in Wallasey, had a mate who lived in Neston and worked for Neston Print for a while. Wirral isn't Merseyside any more though, thankfully distanced itself from Liverpool and earned itself a CH postcode!! Quote
mumof4 Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 I was in Eastham..just got home..well...bout an hour or so ago...pc sorted!!(i think) Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Used to work in Eastham and sister still lives in Bromborough, nice part of the Wirral ...... not Merseyside  Quote
Davetheref Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 I have 3 wireless networked PC's at home (mine and the 2 kids) all running AVG free and never had any problems with it. Could it have been to do with firewall problems MO4 rather than the virus protection itself ? Quote

Masked Marauder Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Why is the area known as "The Wirral" and people say "on The Wirral," although it's correnct name is simply "Wirral." I would never say I am from "The Northamptonshire" Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 Why is the area known as "The Wirral" and people say "on The Wirral," although it's correnct name is simply "Wirral." I would never say I am from "The Northamptonshire"It was always referred to as The Wirral Penninsular for tourism reasons (sounds more exotic?!?) and it's just stuck. (people being lazy have dropped the long word though!) It also comes from people referring to the River Mersey and which side you live on. " I live on the Wirral side" rather than being labelled a Scouser when saying you were from Merseyside. The majority of people from The Wirral hate being called Scousers as much as people from The Black Country hate being called Brummies and as much as North and South Londoners hate being called Cocknies. Apologies for hijacking the thread with all these Wirralisms  Quote
