Just had my galaxy serviced recently. Ever since I've had it back I've had problems with changing gears.

When accelerating the revs increase rapidly but the gearbox has trouble changing into the next gear.

To cure the problem at the moment I decellerate and accelerate quickly and it seems to change into the next gear. This mainly happens in the top gears but sometimes happens in the lower gears.

It feels like a slipping clutch but this is an auto gearbox!

There is clutch packs in the auto box,,,,and it makes it feel as it is slipping, like an ordinary manual box,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it also may need the ATF topped up

just had the car checked at an auto gearbox specialist and the problem is that the 4th gear is knackered.

try to get a quote for a low mileage replacement box (ideally with a warranty)before agreeing to have the box reconditioned. you can then weigh up all options. I have taken my auto back 4 times since having the box reconditioned - it is still not 100%.
