Guest kenji4444 Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 :D Hi guys,Just got Gal back (2.3 auto LX) after a series of probs over days with auto box....no drive, then stuck in 'get you home, 3rd', then OK, then no drive, etc, etc! Cut a long story, a mechanic mate, with analyser, ended up changing the loom from TCM to box - actually, plus loom inside box aswell. Both looms 'cos having changed loom inside the box for new one, due to pin corrosion and fiddled with the original loom to TCM, the car drove OK for a while, until the above started (again!). Having decided to change exterior loom, noted that new gearbox loom (to servos, etc) had again corroded. Nobody knows why; connector was well dry when installed, no dampness up the extrior loom, plenty of grease/sealant aroung re-connected looms, but still the pins corroded on this main connector (front of box). So, now we have both interior box and box-to-TCM looms new. Fault codes were cleared..engine light was on latterly before it went in. Drives now semi-OK, but there's just a bit of a 'dip' in the change from 2nd to 3rd; it's sort of dropping into that gear on change up not quite smoothly. I'm hoping TCM is learning the new parameters and it irons itself out over next 10's of miles. Only fault code remaining is P01681, which I've looked up as metering oil pump prob. Anyone know what this is and if it can, in any way, be causing the transmission blip? :D Quote
lazyb5 Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Hi Ken cant wait till my auto box plays up :D mines out of warranty and at 70k best start saving now. I did read on here that the box learns over the first 100 miles after a reset. Hope yours sorts itself out. At least we wont have the dual density flywheel problem :D Quote
