Guest MATT jr Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 i need to hav a RANT!! im so p****d off! ok, so i set about changing my dud side light bulb (left front one), and replacing my Main beams with the xenon ones. i started at 3pm (thinking an hour of sunlight was more then enough) HOW WRONG WAS I!!! ok, to change a side light, on a ford galaxy, you have to turn your steering fully to the right, then, open a trap door in the wheel arch! - it was well stuck!!, ended up getting a hammer and bashing it,,, eventually i got it open, then, you have to put your WHOLE arm in this tiny hole, up to your elbow infact, and with your finger tips, undo a VERY tight plug thing that holds the bulb,,, got it out, new bulb in the bulb holder,,, then, putting it back in, couldnt get enough force on the plug thing, to lock it back in,,, so just struglled with it for ages, until it went back in,,, and thats just the side light!! i then started on the main beam bulbs! them took even longer! T****R WHO DESIGNED THEM HEAD LIGHTS!!,, ok, 1stly theres no room for your hand,, 2ndly, theres a b*****d cover on the back of the headlamps, thats almost too big to remove,,, then, the bulb itself is held in by a wierd metal clip thingy,,, its ok taking them off, but putting the buggers back on is a work of art!! all this TIMEs TWO, (for both headlamps) --- then before i had finished, dad comes out - u need go fetch ur bro -- "i cant, me cars still in bits!" anyway, finished the lights, got under the car, and give 3 bolts that hold the booster heater on, a good soaking of WD40, so when i takle that, it should, SHOULD, come off easier! MJR <_< Quote
Guest gooner52 Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 <_< hi matj sorry to hear about the bulbs given you all that hassel and i know what you mean.. now i just take the headlight out its a lot faster  Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 gooner....half way through i thought removing the headlamp would be faster! its stupid to make it so difficult to replace the bulbs! iv even heard that one of the fog lights can not be changed unless some other part is removed 1st!! wouldn't of been so bad, but it went dark halfway through, and every torch i tried, just went flat,, got a light out,, but thats got a dodgy wire! even after i had finished, i couldn't try out my new main beams, cos the fog had rolled in! just not my day at all! El Dingo Posted December 21, 2006 Report Posted December 21, 2006 Yes, us too. Flat battery... The wife only does short journeys, and the battery never gets a good charge. Anyway, jump started it and gave it a good run. Got home, tried to re-start......... flat. Measured voltage - duff cell. Oh well, another expense just in time for Christmas. <_< Quote

Guest neil_wiles Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 OK so Xmas is over and good will to all men is finished..... Some scroats using two levers broke into my gal to get to my leather wallet left in the dash, empty I must say but whilst in there they also stole my PSP and six games. Oh FFS what is happening saw them running off and chased em, ran for about two miles before I lost em and then the blue lights arrived, just in time for me to nearly have a coronary, this would have certainly been the case had i not given up smoking last year. Coppers said if they can find the brick they used (excuse me but isnt the damage to the window surround proof they used a pair of levers) they might be able to use DNA from the brick. They then left and phoned me later with a crime number....woooopeeee. Sod it I aint playing fair anymore just let someone upset me todayl. Quote
Guest MATT jr Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 sorry to hear that, i hope they get the little S**ts MJR Quote
mumof4 Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 hope they get em..... Blimey..even i cant run 2 miles....and ive been going to the gym most days ;) Quote
jkspoff Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 DNA off a brick for a car break in, sorry but they're having you on with that one. A fingerprint on the car at the most soco may be able to lift, and get an identification from it, but not off a brick unless it had blood on it, and was inside the vehicle to link it to the crime. Guest MATT jr Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 ...track them down yourself, and smash their car/property MJR Quote

mumof4 Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 Some bar steward hit my car this morning...my rear bumper now has some lovely deep grooves in it on the corner bit, i am well hacked off.no scrap that..i am well pi55ed off!!.. The car was parked in the co-op car park and there was no one next to me either side when i parked, the only other vehicle near it was a white delivery van..!!..there was white paint on my bumper..so i am assumeing that the van hit my car in some way and fcuked off..i know damn well there was no damage to the bumper yesterday...i am bloody fumeing. ;) :o :o :o :D the co-op doesnt have security cameras in the car park so i cant prove who did it...the manager of the co-op told me that unless i have proof it was the van driver who hit my car.....then there is nothing they can do as it was their delivery van.flippin idiotic imbeciles!! Quote
Bigjeeze Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 If it is deep scratches then it's a paint job - but if the bumper has dents then you can get them out using one of those heat guns (that you use to get paint off) - all you do is spply heat (carefully) until it goes soft then (wearing gloves) push out the dents and hey presto they come out. Hope that helps a bit!! Quote
mumof4 Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 Ive got a blow torch.......would that do? Quote
Bigjeeze Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 No to a blow torch - you don't want or need a naked flame - it will burn the paint and plastic - you can buy the hot air guns for around a tenner - but again remember do not heat for too long or in one small point and keep testing as once the plastic becomes soft then you need to push out the dent and remove the heat to let it cool off. mumof4 Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 Ok..thanks for that..i am assumeing i can get one from halfords? Quote
Bigjeeze Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 I would try wickes or a DIY store - I don't find Halford's prices that good - but they may do one. Quote
Dave-G Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 I have had my front bumper reattached courtesy of Tesco after i parked in their car park and their kerb was that high that when i parked all me and the kids heard was a thump as it was taken off.......after speaking to the Manager it was decided that they would call someone out to refit it! after they admitted after looking at the kerb and my car that the kerb was a tadge too high!!..(car park had only just been built so i was told.).I was also given Quote
