omg thats sad mumof4 wasnt your fault though dog should not have been out on the road without an adult and a lead on, the friend should not takeit out on you really, the owner should be keeping it under control, we had 1 here earlier in the year and a bloke was walking his dog at about 6 am down a road that leads out of town and his dog not on a lead run out and had a motorbike offthe road ,think the bloke got into trouble for it

ran over small bunny once, 15 year ago.....

my wife will not let it lie...

every time i see a bunny all the kids shout out in unision" dad your a bunny killer aren't you!!"

some times i wish I could transport myself 2 a warm pup garden with a pint of quality bitter and a pack of pork scratchings and no kids

am I evil 4 this????

This evening i ran over and killed my friends dog.A black collie called mellow.i didnt see him,i wasnt speeding.i felt the car go over him.i dont know if you would call this a rant as it aint..i needed to speak.it was awful and i cant stop shaking or crying..does not help wen i was told that if i had of seen him and had swerved i would have hit other cars..but at least he would be alive and i would still have my friend.i wont be on for a while i think...i feel awful at what i have done.if it had of been my dog i would have reacted the way she had when she saw me.but it doesnt help.nothing does.the pictures i have in my head are not nice..nor do i think i will forget them.i have caused pain this evening that i never in a million years would have thought i would.im sorry for what i did but it wont bring him back..it wont..if i could turn the clock back and turned left instead of going straight on..i would....im sorry..

Don't brood and dont feel guilty. These things happen -if you didn't see the dog and it wasn't under control then there's little you could have done. The owner should have looked after the dog better.

Think it through and you'll feel better.

I know in my head that there was nothing i could have done,i didnt see him and he was loose. But it still doesnt stop me feeling guilty for hitting him and causing a family grief.

Thank you for your kind replies...I will see sense in time..but right now it is hard to when i every time i close my eyes, all i see is mellow in the road after i had killed him, and my friend and her family around him screaming.time heals all hurts......so they say,

Marian.

ifs and buts eh................

if you hadnt been driving that night you wouldnt have knocked it down?

if it had been on a lead it would not be dead

if it had been locked up in the house it wouldnt be dead

IF MY UNCLE HAD BEEN A WOMAN HE WOULD BE MY AUNTY

ifs and buts drive you mad, time is a great healer

i know you feel guilty i did when i knocked a cat down, trouble was it vanished i spent ages looking for it with no luck i felt guilty afterwards but what can you do?

id rather knock an animal down then a human

New rant...

I hate it when I'm stopped at a roundabout and waiting because someone is coming out of the junction to my right - then they turn left into the road I'm coming out of *without indicating*.

(fuming now just thinking about it again!!!)

Am I allowed two rants?

It seems that as the nights begin to draw in and there's more rainy days, so the fog light fashion victims are out and about again...

(I was fuming, now I'm incandescent!!!)

I witnessed a crash yesterday, because the car on the roundabout indicated incorrectly, and someone joined the roundabout.

Two things, indicate correctly, and don't trust other drivers!

What made it funny, was someone blew the horn about 10 secs after the crash - bit late love!

grrrrrr - agreed

Other one that always gets me are those that slow down and stop at roundabouts when either nothing is coming or thet misjudge the speed of those on the roundabout so badly that they're long gone while we all queue up, with a little more observation and earlier slowing down you can often time your entrance to the roundabout

What about those t**sers who put their handbrake on at the lights or whilst waiting at lights then can't get the bloody thing off again! You end up waiting for about three changes of lights before they move!!!

Or the most irritating for me is when you are trying to turn right out of a fairly busy road - behind the person who waits to go only until both ways are totally clear - When the right lane could be blocked by pulling forwards so that as soon as the left lane is clear you can go!

you sure - suppose I can turn them off then  :)

seriously - I reckon some don't know they are on - R reg escort the view of the fog light switch is blocked by the steering wheel (push to turn on and push to turn off) and just in the rifgt position to be caught by my knee when getting in/out. Can knock the switch when the lights are off (indicator on switch stays off) but wgen you put the lights on (for me in the early morning (6.30)) and on come the fogs - its not dark enough to see the lights in the rear view mirror

I left home this morning at 6.30 it was slightly misty - and yes there they were the tossers with their rear fogs on with visbility at about 20 miles!!

I drove all the way to York this morning and arrived around 11.00 - Left at 4.30 and arrived home at 9.30 a round trip of 556 miles - average speed 59mph give or take and with a MPG of 47.8 - and when I got within 5 mile sof home hter they were with their sodding foglamps again!!!!!!
