Hello All,

Newbie here!! :)

I have a 2.3 petrol Manual (2000) Galaxy. Just had a major service done with Ford parts in a non ford garage (Saturday)... when to start the car yesterday morning and had this problem.

From cold. turned ignition and the starter motor turned & turned with now fire-up!. switched of ignition, then switched back on and received 3 beeps from the dash!. switched of ignition again, switched back on and fired car up straight away - huh?.

The car fired up fine on 3 /4 trips made yesterday - no problem. Started the car from cold again today - same as yesterday?.

What can this be?. Any help please?.

Thanks

Rob

The beeps are probably a low battery warning, not really unexpected if the car has been sitting on a car lot for a while or if it was left with the ignition on when being serviced.

I would not worry unless it starts beeping again.

Thanks for that. I'll invest in a new battery. I've had the car for 4 years (same battery) and the wife uses it for Childminding & school runs, so it never does much more than 4/5 miles a day!!... more miles on a weekend though + twice a year to Cornwall.

Thanks

Rob
