just been to look at a 1998 tdi galaxy with 112000 miles to th e good, was a lovely kept car apart from a vibration through the clutc pedal.

i was just wondering how normal this is or was there a problem with it, any info on this would be much appreciated. thanks :D

What kind of vibration was that? Did the pedal vibrate while stationary or the function of the clutch was not smooth and the vibration came from the eratic engagement ?

whilst driving along i noticed if i rested my foot on the clutch pedal i could feel like what seemed excesive vibrations through it, wasn't sure if it was normal or the signs of bad things to come

does the clutch linkage get close to the steering linkage, if I push my foot up in the footwell I can feel the steering linkage move and sometimes vibrate on a rough road, got an auto so don't have a clutch :D

Nope, it is likely fine (for a 112K clutch, mine is fine and is on 130K). Best way to check the clutch is to do a stall-test and note the biting point.

Don't do it too hard if the owner is watching!
