We are about to get a dog, and I am looking for a dog cage, I have seen a few on ebay, but what I was wondering is, do they rattle  , anyone any experience, as I hate rattles, and would prefer not to have one if it does. Anyone got the Ford manufactured one ? How does it fit. Thanks. :D

I put a few tie-wraps on the corners of the cage and that quelled the rattles. If you need six seats plus the Dog, remove the drivers side rearmost seat as it gives you a critical couple of inches extra space and there is a cage (available from "Pet wolrd" for instance) that exactly fits the gap and gives you enough room for a large Collie or Lab. Another advantage of a crate is it prevents the Dog jumping out and you can load light luggage on top of it.

The Ford system is a floor to ceiling divider behind the rear seats, plus a lateral divider for the luggage compartment limiting you to five seats. Cost

I have a large dog cage in mine that takes up the entire space where the two rear seats sit, it did rattle a bit but as someone else suggested put Cable ties round it and it will be fine

Thanks for the offer mumof4 but I think we will go straight for a full size divider.

Hey, we've got a new dog (new dog=cocker spaniel pup) and a cage in the Gal. Got one of these http://www.vcsaunders.co.uk/DogGuardsT4.html

It's mint...no rattles...no fuss...only touches roof and floor, where there's big rubber bungie feet....takes out easily, if you want to use load space. No probs. You can get 'em cheaper on Ebay I think as well.

Don't waste your money!!!

We've got a St Bernard (and a staff cross) and with seats 6 & 7 taken out

the middle row of seats are that high that they won't even attempt to

get over them! A as your new pup will know no different you won't have

a problem (apart from walking an 11 stone animal that wants to meet everyone

and everything!!) Good luck with your new arrival !!!

If they are bitches yes, but you'd be amazed what a dog can do if he gets a sniff of bitch on heat outside the car. Our Arthritic 14 year old Collie (who had to be lifted into the boot) managed to scramble over them and out through the drivers door when he thought he was on the sniff of a promise!
