mumof4 Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 scuse me but yesterday....i mowed the garden..washed/waxed and buffed the car to a gleam..i polished the windows inside and out of the car...picked up all sweetie/crisp wrappers out of it etcc.... I also scrubbed the path where my beloved daughter had done hand and feet painting with an icecream and we had millions of ants swarming the place....i did the shopping with 4 kids who scattered as soon as i entered the shop...(not funny shouting at the top of my voice that they had till the count of 3 to get back to me now!!) i cleaned the house/tidied the garden/buried a dead bird out of garden/did the washing/coped with son who got into a fight and had the other lads parents at the door(go on my son!!)i coped with a sullen 8 yr old who didnt have the "right skirt" to go with a top she wanted to wear.then to top it off..hubby comes home after tea..says.."the car looks nice dear.."he looks at the destruction that always happens after tea..and says.."been sat on the pc all day again have you??" AAARRRGGHHH!!!!!!!! Took me hours to do the car...well...2 actually. sometimes i wish i could just sit and drink tea all day and yap and take a breather!!..but that would be ..um...nah....couldnt do it.tooooo much to do!! :( :D  :( Quote
NikpV Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 i coped with a sullen 8 yr old who didnt have the "right skirt" to go with a top she wanted to wear been getting that since our was 5 yo  :D Quote
mumof4 Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 boys are soooo much easier than girls!!!!!!none of this "ive got nothing to wear !!" malarky....... yup..our eldest been like it since the age of 6....only now she will go thru clobber like there is no tomorrow..buy her a skirt that she chooses...2 days later she refuses to wear it as she doesnt like it any more!!!! :(  And ive got 3 of em!!!god help us when they are all teens and start chasing boys..............im saving already for a flat..gonna be a race between me and hubby as to who gets it first!!!!! :D  Quote
NikpV Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 yup..our eldest been like it since the age of 6....only now she will go thru clobber like there is no tomorrow..buy her a skirt that she chooses...2 days later she refuses to wear it as she doesnt like it any more!!!! :D Â And ive got 3 of em!!!god help us when they are all teens and start chasing boys..............im saving already for a flat..gonna be a race between me and hubby as to who gets it first!!!!! :D  :( :( Â Â As a slight aside - how have they coped with moving (house/area), my girl is in a tiny room which is just about ok for now and the 2 boys share the 'Master' bedroom (small three bed end of terrace). We are lookibg to move but to get somethimg we can afford (smallish 4 bed) we have to move 30 miles away, Eleanor is distraught at times and keeps flooring us with comments. After explaining that she will need more room she came back two days later with 'I don't need more room I've got this biscuit tin which is completely empty' :D :D Quote
mumof4 Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Awww blessss her.... My kids have moved no problems..weve had 5 moves in 5 years...easy while they are young, once they jit school it has been ok..there is an initial settling in bit, weve been lucky so far as have moved in holiday time so they have got to know other kids before they have started school...to begin with we might get..i dont have any friends or i want to go back..but that stopps after a couple of weeks.kids settle down a lot quicker than adults..and as you may be moving only 30 miles away..you could always say...that you can take em to see old friends., where with ours its been the other side of the country!!!!..kent to the shetlands...then to lincoln..then to scotland...then to here..on one camp we moved across the road as needed a bigger house!!kids adapt easy.....alot more so than adults sometimes!!! you have to make it interesting..like...you can write letters to friends and get post all of your own!!!..my eldest still writes to friends she used to have..just to get mail!! :D Quote
NikpV Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 you have to make it interestingyes we are trying, I don't know what mod moves are like but the uncertainty - off/on/off problems  gets to us and although we try and shield her from it kids are very perceptive - at least she is (the eldest boy 4 needs it imprinting on his foerhead before he gets the idea :D ) Quote
teresa Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 hay lads let me ask you one question when you are out side cleaning the car /cutting the grass or hedge etc on the saturday mornings how many of you see a lady out there doing the same job :( What a cheek :D  ive been outside last 2 days polishing my gal inside and out while my other half has been inside playing gtr on his pc :( Quote
mumof4 Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 I know that feeling well Teresa!! ..hubby is exactly the same..    How old is she Nik?????we allways tell the kids that we are moveing and roughly when and always keep them imformed of whats going on..mod moves are diff as we dont always see the house before we actually move in...we dont usually get a choice as to which house either!!removals are booked for us..but we still have to pack..deal with sum1 coming round doing estimates on volume..we have to change schools...etcc......we also have to leave the house spotless...including cooker etc..if its not up to standard we get charged for it. i think the only difference between moving in civvy street and moving in the Forces..is that removals are booked for us..and we dont get a choice as to where we go. if you need any help..let me know..if i can help then i will. :D Quote
NikpV Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 She's six, had some trouble making friends last year, she's the sort to stick with one special friend but we've just managed to encourage her to have 3 or 4 - with many sleepovers/trips out etc :D  if you need any help..let me know..if i can help then i will.  cheers will do.. :D Quote

Bigjeeze Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 Hmmmm.... seems like I touched a whole bag of nerves with that one!! <_>  Ok Mumof4 I concede childbirth might ( Isay only might) hurt a little bit - but if you hadn't yet realised that's because ladies have much lower pain thresholds than men - so what seems very very painful to them is re :D ally not a lot to write home about for a big hale and hearty chap. Surely you jest when you say you don't want to serve? My wife (God Bless Her) siad" To Love Honour & Obey" and by my way of thinking the obeying comes into the area of servitude!!. After all I do all the dirty jobs , the heavy jobs and those that she can't do (hmmm,,, what does that leave then?). :D  I think that you should be grateful your dear hubby gave up his valuable DNA to combine with yours to produce the 4 lovely children you have!! It's an honour!! Bit like getting a medal only easier!!! :D   (Now stands well back to wait and see what happens - from a safe distance!!_ :D Quote
mumof4 Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 because ladies have much lower pain thresholds than men - so what seems very very painful to them is re ally not a lot to write home about for a big hale and hearty chap.  really...dont you mean that ladies have a HIGHER thresh hold than men for pain???i mean c'mon...you men get a cold and its man flue!!!!.you stub a toe and your legs broken!!!If men had to give birth they would only do it once and then say there is no way on thisearth that you would get me to do that again!!!lLowere threshhold then men my butt!! :) :o  and by my way of thinking the obeying comes into the area of servitude!!. After all I do all the dirty jobs , the heavy jobs and those that she can't do (hmmm,,, what does that leave then?).  *splutter..coffee hits the screen!*SERVITUDE?!!!!om my..were you were born in the victorian days???are you a reincarnation of a slavemaster?????What dirty jobs???????what jobs cant we do???Name one!!!!!I think that you will find that we are capeable of doing anything you men can do.servitude......love honour and obey.......love..yes...honour..yes...obey?????Get with the times man!!!!who wants to be a doormat in this day and age!!  I think that you should be grateful your dear hubby gave up his valuable DNA to combine with yours to produce the 4 lovely children you have!! It's an honour!! Bit like getting a medal only easier!!!  Grateful?????honour???yes..its an honour to have children.but grateful?????you lot grunt and groan away..assume it was good for us..roll over..fahrt and go tosleep!!!yes we should get a medal..after all...we have to put up with you men all the time!!! :o :o :o Quote
Bigjeeze Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 Hmm... Have you cleaned the screen what with all that coffee yet? wouldn't want to upset hubby what with you girlies not understanding the technology etc!. :P  Well you could be right I may well be a throw back to Victorian values - but then again maybe I just know which buttons to push!! B)  The pain threshold bit - I have read numerous stories of Men having limbs cut off, guts hanging out etc etc etc and still going on to complete the mission , kill the enemy, take that pill box etc - But the most you get from women is "what a hard labour - it took 15 or 20 hours - Or my back aches from all that ironing - Face it - Women are great at what they do - the ones that aren't were probably meant to be men anyway!! :D  You just carry on raising the children toting that bail and looking pretty - you know all the things women were made for!. :D  I mean that's why women have smaller feet than men - so that they can get closer to the the sink! :D  Why do brides wear white -? So that they match the kitchen!!  I realise these truths may hurt - but if you just sit down then go off for a coffee maybe a hairdo and perhaps buy a new frock you'll get over it!! :D  Now don't spend too long reading al this crap cos Hubby will be home soon and you will have to give him all your atntion after his hard day at work. Read this - it will help you to understand your position in life!!!   Quote
