Guest JIMSTDI Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 i also found out something else if u have a trailer etc.. hooked up your parking sensors at the rear .turn off anyway,if wired right.. ive no complants.when i dont want towbar there just put it in the back james Quote
ridway Posted September 15, 2003 Report Posted September 15, 2003 I can confirm Sher's findings. You need to just push the support plate a few mm towards the rear of the car (forward), this stops the sensors picking it up. I bought my gal with the tow ball fitted and all was fine until a took the trailer to the local refuse a few times. Removing and reattaching the trailer plug a few times was enough to bend it sufficient to be picked up by the sensor. I suppose a more rigid plate would permanently solve the problem. Rich Quote
Sher Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Seems I'm not the only person who believes in using a trailer for visits to the local tip.The stuff I see people taking out of newish cars is unbelievable!!!Makes me think they may not be paying for them. Quote
ridway Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 Sher, is Towsure near Crystal Peaks in Sheffield? I got a tow bar fitted to a Pug 405 a few year ago near there. They were very good as I needed it in a hurry and it was a Sunday. The things you remember eh! Quote

Sher Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 Sorry don't know Crystal Peaks but I know Towsure towbars as I have fitted them to all our Family cars for about 20 Years? ( I forget now its been so long).I went off the Witters because of price and their bitty make up at that time causing some difficulty in lining up.I suppose they have changed now but their prices are still higher than Towsure. They seem to have grown folloeing the demise of steel in Sheffield. I've even been to their Factory by the river in Sheffield.A very genuine firm. Quote
