mumble_bee Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 hi anyone know whether this is possible,I mean are the connections the same, are the aircon pumps the same - are the issues the same.... I dont like my analog heater/aircon controls - and would LOVE to swap for digital ones... ebay ppl are selling digital ones, but no one can be bothered to take pics of the rear for connections etc.. I'm just wondering - and of course thank you in advance. (even for just looking :rolleyes: ) Quote

The flaps inside the heater / cooling / fan unit are controlled by motors on the cc unit instead of cables on the ac unit. Not saying it can't be done but it would be a lot of work. Some people would tell you what you have is better, more reliable etc. I've got cc on mine and I would disagree with them 100%! Regards - John Quote
Rallim Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 I think the manual ac still has electronic flaps etc (there is noticeable delay when you quickly turn the air from the windscreen to the face vents, and likewise when you put it on recirculation). But I do agree there is probably still significant mods, as doen't the cc not have the roof mounted controls for the rear heat exchanger?? Plus cc has the sunlight compensation sensor... and it would not surprise me that the rear connectors to the control panels were completely different. One can dream though... dave_m Posted April 25, 2006 Report Posted April 25, 2006 the heating/AC system is electronic and the flaps to control temp and where the air comes out are controlled by electric motors not by cables, however the CC system has different components and wiring so i am sure the digital controls won't simply swap over.
