Hi gang its just that if i follow the instructions from Nik (thanks m8) i can see how everything comes off to enable me to remove both side trim panels but the first instructions are remove scuff guard :D hope it isnt bolted underneath as i`ve just installed a towbar and waxoiled all that area :D Any help would be appreciated. Hi muffking i`m like you wires from towbar under carpet but would love to put them under scuff plate i bent mine slightly trying to remove with crowbar :D

Christ you must have been desperate. I used a screwdriver but gave up before it bending it. My other plan was to remove the middle row of seats and feed a wire trough the carpet and then through the rear inner wing trim on either side.

I was but it still didnt move just about to look in the ford tis see if i missed something i dont fancy getting underneath again with all that waxoil :P

the ones referred to in the first pictures are for the rear doors not tailgate, look which direction the seat fixing plates are pointing

Hi , the silver trim plate is secured with (6) plastic clips ...Pry up gently

Aha - any idea where and where do you start so as not to bend it ?

Ok some more info on Tailgate scuff plate apparently there are 11 clips

Before assembling, insert clips -2- (Qty. 11) into mountings on cover

I removed my scuff plate by first peeling back the rubber strip along its rear edge and then gently prying a bit at a time along the plates full length. It made a horrible 'ripping' noise as the serrated plastic clips came out of their holes but it didn't bend, thankfully. Bit of a fiddle trying to get all the clips to line up with their respective holes when you put it back though. :P Andy.

Just for info...

I recently bought a Tonneau (Luggage Cover) off Ebay, it came, as per sods law, without any fixing brackets.

I went to my local VW dealer and ordered the brackets in the correct interior colour for my Sharan and they came to approx

Vw came up trumps with all the fittings and even the correct rivets :D Cant take the seats out cause they are too heavy but they are now covered :D

thanks to Nik for the diagrams they were great, is it me or is the ford tis next to useless :P

am currently going through the same thing. bought the tonneau cover off fleabay. and now need the fittings. seeing as VW are cheaper i phoned them today to check availability and cost etc. unfortunately they cannot order the bits without a chassis number and a ford chassis number wont do. there are 6 or 7 alternatives for the plastic bits - i'm guessing they are all the same except a different colour. unfortunately the pics on the screen in vw dealer dont show the colour just a diagram. anybody got a part number for these things?

has anyone here got a sharan with an antracite interior? if you could let me know your chassis number then i could use it to order the bits for my galaxy. any help is very much appreciated - want to avoid paying double for the same thing at frauds.

does anyone recommend using seat to buy parts and anybody know how the prices compare?

NikPv, how come you have got speakers behind your rear doors and i haven't???

IIRC in the Aspen you were lucky to get a radio. :) The further up the range you went LX, GLX, GHIA the better the ICE and the more speakers were fitted as standard. :( Andy.

You need two brackets which fit on the trim on either side just behind middle row of seats (and brackets underneath which bolt to the chassis) and two brackets on the tailgate pillars. Could probably get a photo later if you need one

I have just bought all the necessary Ford fixings to enable me to put it the luggage blind, but would appreciate it if you could send me a photo so I get it right.

My 2001 Y Galaxy LX 2.3 did not have these fitted as standard but I have been told that they are all the same size and can be fitted. I have no instructions as to what to remove to fix the grey brackets, or the retaining brackets.

Hope you can help.
