:( Hi, bought my galaxy glx 1996 P reg 2 litre a few weeks ago, but it hasn't got a luggage cover/parcel shelf, i want to buy one but, it does'nt look like one will fit anywhere, do these's things fit to all galaxy's or can i buy some type of fitment to make one fit, i love my car but it's like not having a boot, i need to put my bags somewhere without people seeing them.

You need two brackets which fit on the trim on either side just behind middle row of seats (and brackets underneath which bolt to the chassis) and two brackets on the tailgate pillars. Could probably get a photo later if you need one

Hi, thanks pics would be great, i know now i haven't got these brackets on mine, need to know now if i can buy them and get them fitted and how much, thanks for your help i have been searching for days to find this info, came across this site a few hours ago and nearly sorted now thanks :(

The location for the holes for the brackets is pre-marked on the inside of the covers :(

First you need to make a frame from suitable wood, bolts, nuts and washers, plus a bit of self-adhesive velcro .....

Then you drape a suitable blamket over it, and the velcro helps to grip the blanket. Use sufficiently robust wood, and the frame acts as a shelf for you to rest jackets on, etc etc.....

 

I had suitable wood and bolts etc lying around. I bought a travel blanket for around

When you unclip the seatbelt from the floor it retracts and clips into this recess :D

It stops the buckle smacking the window as you throw the car through the chicane(sp) :D

Thanks for all your help with the parcel shelf prob, i don't think i'm that handy to make on of those home made ones ;) so now i guess i'll have to get the brackets , is anyone out there breaking a galaxy with these bits on

I've read somewhere that vw is cheaper than fords for the fixings ;)

Hi Nik thanks for all the details i get the idea just one problem how do i remove the stainless steel scuff guard in the boot i`ve had a go before and it refuses to move.
