wardmw Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Why is it so difficult to change that bulb? I can't figure out how to get the bulb holder back in with a fresh bulb in it! That flaming metal bracket is in the way! How do you do it? |\/|artin Quote
NikpV Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 :P :P :P :P use L - shaped posi screwdriver to remove bracket - although some have managed without - not me though It was a bugger Quote
tim-spam Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 I think the galaxy must surely be different in this area to the Sharan / Alhambra, as I've just change mine and it was easy - literally a 2 minute job, and no need to remove anything other than the trim panel and bulb holder. Quote
Guest neil_wiles Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 I have to agree with Tim I have no problems changing any of the bulbs indeed I was beginning to wonder if I had the same Galaxy as everyone else who had the problem. Can someone who has this issue post a picture and details of the year and specification, eg CC or seat config etc so I can understand which models are gonnahave this problem and indeed what the problem is. I have had two TDis and never had a problem changing bulbs except the front side lights on my latest model what a blinking pain up inside the wheel arch and inside a slide cover thats seized with road grit. Could that not be easier Quote
jkspoff Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 Just use a bit of brute force ! It will pull through the gap. Fiddly but can be done without removing bracket. Quote
AndeeeH Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 The cars gone but the metal bracket is still in the cupboard under the stairs!!!!! Andy. Quote
galaxy_1.9TD_Zetec Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 Hiya, I removed the bracket too when I had to change the rear drivers side lamp. Changed front side light yesterday - actually removed the whole headlight to do it (then readin the owners book that you can get from under the wheel arch) Graeme Quote
NikpV Posted April 22, 2006 Report Posted April 22, 2006 (then readin the owners book that you can get from under the wheel arch) Graeme But it helps if you have a tiny hand which has been stretched on a rack  the access is quite small, even if you can get it open to start with :P Quote
