chromedome Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 I have just installed Elsa Win. I understand I have to select VW Sharan, but what codes do I select from the following:- Model 7M6, 7M8, 7M9 Gear FPE, FUX These fields have to be selected to enter the program. I have a 2005 Ford Galaxy Ghia 1.9TDI 130PS. Thanks for any responses. Quote
chromedome Posted April 18, 2006 Author Report Posted April 18, 2006 I've found more codes now. This is really confusing. Quote
dave_m Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 7M9 Is sharan. Six speed manual box iirc is FUX. On My ELSAWIN if Enter year and the above info it lets me in to the workshop manuals and the electrical flow diagrams. Certain bits such as technical solutions, you need an actual VIN for, so it can identify your exact model, build date etc I have been trying to get hold of a 2001 1.9 tdi VIN to use on mine! Quote
MrT Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 I have a copy of Elsa Win but have never got around to installing it. However if you need a VIN and you have one near it from a similar model , you can go to a site on the web (cannot remember where but there are several) which fully explain how a VIN is constructed, some even have calculators. You can go from there and work out possible VINs for a vehicle for a particular build month. The majority of the codes do not change, e.g manufacturer, place of manufacture, type of vehicle, IIRC there are five digits you will have to guess but it does not take long. You will get a range of models and colours by changing the five digits, but eventually you will get one that works. I did this for mine for Microcat so I could look up the latest parts for later models. Quote
Buncers Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 Is ELSA WIN better that the Ford TIS cd (which I've never got much out of). Quote
dave_m Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 in my opinion, yes. It is much more comprehensive and images are clearer and more detailed and it is easier to understand Quote
