Tinted Windows

I fancy tinting the windows on my Galaxy just wondering if anyone knew what the law is on this as far as am aware the front driver and and passengers window can only be tinted so far and the windscreen clear and can anyone recomend a kit for doing it :(

The front and front sides are already tinted (allbeit slightly) from the factory. You can't stick on any tint on the front anyway. Front sides are pretty much out too as the lowest tint will make them not legal.

 

Anything back from the "B" pillar you can do what you like with.

It is a right royal pain in the butt to tint them properly, I sugest going to a tinting firm and get the job done right first time,

Do a search on window tinting it has been covered many times.

The front side windows have to allow 65% light in, anything under this (i.e 64%) is a fail. They will measure this with a meter. As said before you can do anything you want with the rear.

Also worth noting is the fact that some tints are sold as legal... and they are.. if you put them on clear glass, but remember all cars sold within the last 10 years have some sort of tint so you are putting tint over tint.

I wasn't aware there was already a slight tint in the windows :blink: think this might just be a job for a shop to have it done right i want the back of the car like limo black as someones tried to forced the back window down to get into the car to get at something they fancied i presume :D they didnt get in but if they cant see then theres less likely chance they'll want in

this wasone of the reasons that i had mine tinted for to stop those pickey b a s a r d s having a shuftty and helping them selves

loads of cubbys to hide things in the gal...failing that do what our astute kids do..chuck all their rubbish on the floor to hide stuff!! :D B) :blink: :blink:

You'd need a health and safety assesment before gettin in mines lol maybe they wanted to clean up :P

thats why i had the windows tinted to hide all the c r a p that five kids produce oh the shame of it :P

Hubbys given up cleaning the car so i do it now...well...i line the kids up..give em a bag each..then i open all the doors and tell em to pick up all they can!! :P

me i do it on my own take out all the seats cause when ever you ask the little swines to do it an argument ensues and garunted they always leave stuff under the seats its a blody nightmare oh and the radio gets turned up them mirror gets knocked the shuttlecomes out of the changer and put back in wrong you know the score :P

yeah light grey took owner ship of some black car mats for the galaxy today they should hide the strawberry milkshake stains :P

i had a wicked set of over mats a couple of weeks ago from ebay there not the usual ones that go in front of the seats there a big pair of back ones that go under the seats and protect the entire carpet in the back all for

my 2 yr old sits next to the window..her fave trick is placing all her snots on the window and the seat!! :P
