I have just bought a slightly scabby 96 2.0l glx which I am tidying up.

I have sorted out the plastics (after 20 years of Japanese cars, I can't

believe how bad the Ford plastics and fittings ar).

If you have a kit you do all the connection in the back compartment to the right where the car jack is. Everything you need is in there: +12 V, a negative, and you connect the switch function of the kit in parallell with the lock to the tailgate.

Guess someone has changed the ignition lock so that you now have two different keys.... :D Usually you should have the same key to all the locks on the car.

Thats great, I would never have thought of doing it from there, I know it

is easy to get to as I wired the reverse sensors from one of those plugs.

As soon as the kit arrives I'll have a go, loads cheaper than trying to get

the original one working.

I did wonder about the ignition lock, not worth the expense of getting

a complete new lockset for this one.
