NikpV Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 bought a couple of twin screen portable dvd players so that SHOULD keep them happy instead of usual "are we there yet" Definitely ... only problem is if we arrive home while they are half-way through a film they want to sit and finish it   and they don't want to wear the headphones   I sometimes worry about them losing out by not looking around at the scenery etc but what the hell, my ear drums and SWMBOs blood pressure suffers otherwise :P :D BTW enjoy your trip :D Quote
familyman Posted April 16, 2006 Author Report Posted April 16, 2006 :( Sadly holidays seem wasted on young ones ,we were in Malta last year ,one day we had some cloudy weather so went to Valletta for the day -fabulous ancient fortified city, what did i get?- look dad there's a MCDONALDS ! so we ended up in this bloody mcdonalds which could have been in any high street in the world  talk about culture! Davetheref Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 Took mine a couple of years ago to the Grand Canyon. All I got was "whats so great about a big hole in the ground" Quote
johnb80 Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 Easter 1999, we'd never had a family holiday in 10 years, the boys had never flown / been abroad etc. I was lucky enough to get some work on a couple of oil rigs that paid absolute mega bucks. From one trip I came back with Quote
NikpV Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 'This is BOOORRRIIIIINNNGGGG" Gratitude - when I were a lad ........... :( :( Quote
Guest Cepheus Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Serves you all right for spending money on the little brats - my kids holidays consists on being let out of the cupboard under the stairs for a couple of hours to clean out the coal shed - the look on their faces is worth a million dollars!! Grateful isn't the word!!! :( :D Quote

Grateful isn't the word!!! :D :( You're spoiling them!! I refuse to let my kids have any coal - I make the buggers wait until meal times so that they can get some exercise fighting the dogs for the scraps!! Spare the rod etc!!! :D Quote
