Anyone Know How To Remove The Clocks On A Mk2?

Hi again.

Last question for this install, I promise.

 

In order for me to finish off my aftermarket Sat Nav installation (see here http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...t=ST&f=4&t=7965) I need to fit the speed pulse wire to the back of the speedo. Does anyone know how it comes out?

There is already a speed pulse wire that goes to the back of your head unit..

it is violet in colour and is normally on a plug on its own...if this will do

the job it will save you the nightmare that is clock removal !!!!

what year is the car as that has great bearing on where the speed pulse is

It's a 2002 '52 plate.

I seem to remember seeing a purple wire on connector C of the radio, but I'll check properly later and see if it works the speed sensing wire for the SatNav.

Spot on, the pair of you.

I pushed the Navi speed pulse wire into the purple wire on the back of the stereo and drove round the block, it worked perfectly.

The wire is now fitted properly through the back of the dash to what is marked as Pin-6 (AVC, the light purple one) of connector-C.
