wondering if anyone can shed some light on the ABS light on the dashboard since puttin this car back on the road it has been on constant changed the front brake discs and pads today going to change the rear too even though there not really needing done but this light is a mystery to me and ideas would be appreicated????

if on all the time then probably a sensor fault or missing the sensing ring on CV joint - search(see above) for 'abs light' - all dates - all forums

The sensing ring would only show up when the car moves, if it's on all the time, not just after setting off it's more likely an ECU / wiring problem. Not sure if open circuit sensors would bring the light on straight away, double check the connectors, unplug them, make sure theyre clean and dry etc, especially on the wheels that have had the recent work done.

The ABS censor ring is broken on the drivers wheel fraud dealers only sell it with thwe cv joint for a meer

I am sure I have an ABS ring in good condition,I took it off for another member on this forum but it turned out they replaced the whole unit.I will have a look today.

If you could that would be really good of you they really should sell these things on there own :/

Thanks mustie I had seen that on ebay but thought too good to be true cause it was so cheap but i just went ahead and bought it am gettin good at buying car parts from ebay :P

Got my cv joint from ebay yesterday and after a wee 2 minute drive the abs light went out thanks people :rolleyes:
