mumof4 Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 This fishy is looking for a home..(poss 2 of them)hubby brought it home from work as it was in a tank with lots of diff fish and it was getting nipped at by the other fish.It has what i believe is swim belly/bladder and it looks like a few of its scales has been munched by something. Now i know this is way off topic but i am desperately trying to find this fish a home as we cant keep it as we have normal goldfish and this one needs to be kept at above 14/15c.I have it in a hospital tank at the mo where it is getting the meds it needs.. Can any one help????it does have a partner which is still in the original tank on camp...which can come with it aswell..these fishies are free.Ive been given the task of rehomeing. Yes ive tried locally...no one interested. sorry peeps. Quote

Masked Marauder Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Will it fit in my headlamps if I fill them up? Quote
mumof4 Posted April 17, 2006 Author Report Posted April 17, 2006 Thought id let you all know that the search for a home for this poor fishy has ended. He died through the night and has now sunk. He put up a valiant struggle for life even though he spent most of it upside down. I now have to organise a funeral, console 4 children, and stop hubby flushing it down the loo to the screams of the kids. Its a sad day in my house, :( Quote
NikpV Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 Had to take 16 year old cat to the vet for the last time last week  why does it always have to be me, spent the rest of the week alternating between answering the 'when is scoopy coming back' question and explaining that she doesn't feel any more pain and that she was very old :( :( Quote
mumof4 Posted April 17, 2006 Author Report Posted April 17, 2006 Its always me in our house like when our first dog had to be put down, even now sometimes my lad comes downstairs crying at night as he misses her and wants her to come home! P.s Good age for a cat. Quote
Bigjeeze Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 I agree losing a pet is very sad - but console yourself with the fact that the Vet is getting vey rich out of your misery! Quote
Guest mattkaye Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 I now have to organise a funeral, console 4 children, and stop hubby flushing it down the loo to the screams of the kids. Why not just serve it up with chips! :( Quote
mumof4 Posted April 17, 2006 Author Report Posted April 17, 2006 Now that is true.....i stilll remember when my fist pet died..it was a mouse..i was 12 years old and i took her to the vet myself. She had a tumour and had to be put down..cost me Quote
Guest mattkaye Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 When my hampster was terminally ill my Dad "took care of it" to avoid vets fees. He assures me it didn't suffer! This was 25 years ago now! Quote
Masked Marauder Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 All you townies need to look for a country vet, everything is so much cheaper and none of this cremation/ashes. Typical example: My friend Nikki wanted a dog castrated. Town vets first question was "What size/weight is he?" Why? Because of the amount of anesthetic apparently, bigger dog means more is required. So they were told the dogs weight and prices of between Quote
Masked Marauder Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 im sure your hamster never suffered mattkaye. It had a p. Quote
