muffking Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Hi guys. I'm going to fit an aftermarket SatNav system in my '52 plate Mk2 this weekend and need to know which wires behind the standard 6000 headunit are mute, permanent 12v, accessory (ignition) 12v and also the speed pulse wire if possble. dave_m Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 try these links :o http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...ic=5437&hl=mute I think its the purple wire (called the gala wire) for the speed sensing (pulse wire) thanks to the people who supplied the information in the above posts Hope it helps Quote
muffking Posted April 13, 2006 Author Report Posted April 13, 2006 Brilliant. Thanks Dave. I notice that there are connections on the diagram for the stereo marked phone mute, phone audio 1 & phone audio 2 + NVA mute, NVA 1 & NVA 2. Do you think that these can be used independantly for mute control from both my bluetooth car kit and SatNav system + route the audio through the extra connections? Oh, and i'm guessing that the purple speed pulse wire goes to the back of the speedo? Quote
muffking Posted April 14, 2006 Author Report Posted April 14, 2006 Back again. Got pretty much most of the navigation system in now, just sorting out the hinge for the screen to live in the centre upper glove box before I dismantle the clocks to fit the speedo wire tomorrow. Unfortunately my Galaxy doesn't have the connector in the back of the radio for mute and audio input connections (if that's what they are for). I managed to connect the power cables inline with the stereo cables, but i'll need to trawl the scrap yards for late mondeos to see if they have the connector on behind the stereo for mute if I'm to fit it in mine.
