bugzie Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Hi all, I have a 1999 galaxy Ghia, yesterday it started 2 misfire this has happend b4 it cost Quote
Guest vr6174bhp Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 Depends on where you go for the disc's and pads? GSF, Euro car parts, local auto shop? I just replaced the complete set on mine, Brembo easy check disc's and Jurid pads all round, no more funny noises at 115+mph when you hit the stop pedal :D as for the misfire, if your up for it? go for it :o pop the top cover off and see if you can see any problems? do it in the dark and see if you see any loose sparks floating around? bugzie Posted April 12, 2006 Author Report Posted April 12, 2006 Thanks I try it in the darkbugzie the badger Quote
Guest vr6174bhp Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 You should have two coil packs that mount directly onto the plugs and then two plug leads from the coil packs that go to the remaining two spark plugs, the two center cylinders share a plug pack and the outer two share the other one, if it comes to it get another plug pack and swap them out in turn till you find the duff one :o if your lucky it could be one of the leads breaking down? a quick squirt of water with a mist gun may show up a duff lead better? BUT do this before you start the engine :D Quote
bugzie Posted April 12, 2006 Author Report Posted April 12, 2006 Thanks I'll try that this week end I'll let u know how it goes, I;m told it's best not to drive it running on half an engine. thanks vr6174bhp Quote
Guest vr6174bhp Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 It can damage the cat if you allow to much unburnt fuel access to it :D Quote
bugzie Posted April 13, 2006 Author Report Posted April 13, 2006 cheers I'll let u know how it goesbugzie Quote

bugzie Posted April 14, 2006 Author Report Posted April 14, 2006 I'm booked into my local ford garage for Tuesday and prepairing myself for a good shafting from old Henrys boys, Delboy was it a difficult job 1-10 scale.. any special tools needed..e.t.c. Bugzie Mcskint. Quote
delboyt Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 you will need a ling plug extractor.simple job to be honestremove the plastic battery shield thenremove the bulk head plate3 screws hold that into placenow you need to pop off the plastic wire holder that covers the plugs.now remove the ht lead (1 at a time as you replace a plug do the same with the leadsor you may put them back in the wrong order.pop all the bits back onthat's itall done if you remove the bulk head plate you should be able to gain access to the plugswith a std plug removing tool but the plugs are fairly deep into the head i recall takes about 30 mins i done it myself & i did once get it done in a local garage not fraudssupplied all the parts & they chaged me Quote
