My car has developed a serious problem and has had to be towed back by the AA.

They have suggested that either the Dual Mass flywheel or the clutch has gone.......

The symptoms are as follows if anyone has had simialr problems and can point me in the right direction i would be grateful.

Car has done 101750 miles, on original clutch

I drove from Luton to Milton Keynes no problem at all parked up for an hour, then when tried to move off again.....

Clutch feels slightly different than normal, car still seems to go into gear OK.

When I release the clutch there is a rubbing/grinding/squealing (hard to describe noise) kind of like something is slipping  in all gears including reverse

Car does move once clutch has engaged.

Anyone have any ideas and what needs doing..... and how much  i can expect to pay (i know it won't be cheap :( )

Also the name of a tried trusted repairer/company in the Luton area would be helpful.

thanks in advance.

Sounds like the slave cylinder/release bearing sticking on the mainshaft I am having the same issue but not as severe.

Just been given some bad news, In addition to the dead clutch the Dual Mass Flywheel is also screwed, thats what finished the clutch off....
