Hi Guys,

A few weeks ago i started noticing a blowing sound when CC was on Auto. I found that both radiator fans were blowing full speed when auto was pressed. I'm not sure but I think that only one fan should run when CC is on and when the engine is till cold.

My local workshop said it would probably be a faulty sensor which makes the CC thinks it doesn't cool and keeps it running continously which causes the second fan to kick in.

Frauds replaced gas, one of the fans and a faulty sensor (came op on the computer) but still both fans run when CC is on auto. Now a new error came up, without explanation, they will call germany for that one.

My question is : do both fans have to run continously when CC is on auto. Could anyone check this on his/her car.

Mine is a 1999 1.9 tdi 110 bhp

Thanks,

Well, certainly on the "mark 2", both fans run when the A/C or C/C is on.

Thanks guys,

Even at Frauds they weren't sure if both fans should run.

Now I'm still curious what the other error in the computer is. I hope they will get back to me tommorow with some answers.

I have noticed today that the blowing sound inside the car has dissapeared. I went back to the garage because i thought they didn't erase the fault about the temp sensor in the computer and indeed they forgot.

I'll keep you posted.
