Moderators Needed Look Here

It seems that since I am not around much things have gone astray so you all need moderators

 

Please put forward names that you would like to see as a moderator and to those that are put forward please let us know if you wish to take on the responsibility.

 

I am looking for 2 - 3 democratic moderators which will work more like a panel than power feinds.

It's a crying shame it's taken so long though, is it possible on this forum software for mod / admin to group email everyone, if it is sending an email to all members announcing who the moderator is and why we have a mod may bring some of the departee's back.

Problem with any forum is not everyone will get along so I do see the need for some sort of all seeing eye to watch over it. Mainly for post's that are inappropriate because of rudeness and slagging off another members coments, but only in extreme circumstances.

A bit of banter is fun but as we know from the past it can be taken to far and then it gets peronal.

Good luck to those offering their services to help moderate this forum it's not an easy task and one that should not be taken lightly. ;) .

If the site is to be moderated, then we will also need a clear set of guidelines (a sticky) to state exactly what is and is not acceptable in the various sub-forums.

I could not agree more, the worst thing you can do as a moderator is to be too heavy handed, that will drive away more community members than anything else.

 

To be a moderator is a major commitment by the moderator to the forum members as ultimately they can make a moderator's life easy, or they can make it hell! Moderators are there only because the other forum members are there and too often moderators forget that and let it get into a downward spiral.

As for moderators I have upgraded one account to moderator, So please give Masked Marauder all the assistance and respect he deserves as the responsibility can be quite over whelming (sp)

 

I could do with 1 or 2 more names being put forward :( to give the chances of moderation in a democratic way.
