Resistor Pack?

hi all firstly many thanks for all the condolences we have had on the loss of my mum thanks

 

 

ok i have had a quick look to find the resistor as my heaters only work on 3 and 4 and i want to do the work i have seen the pic of the unit with the red resistor but mine isnt like it , i can see a green plug with a plug coming from it on the right and on the left is another sort of plug would this green thing be the resistor and if so what is holding it to the unit many thanks

Mines green! held in place by a Torx's bolt? the unit should be on the right hand side of the heater below the fans plug

hi mate thanks for that i wish my camera was working lol but ive drawn what i see when the glove box is off is this the green plug you are saying on the right just sits under the fan plug i think we are on the same wave length here lol thanks alot

The bit your looking for is the RED block to the right of the fan, but it's smaller if you have AC, the one on show here is for a CC system

hi yes i think that is where the green one is located it has a plug with wires coming from it and it plugs into the green part that is red in the picture thanks again very helpfull smoggy

Looks like Galaxykid undid the wrong bolts and his Galaxy fell off the heater :blink: :blink:

Mine is green too - got a replacement as my A/c works on settings 1 & 2 but no blower, and blower works on 3&4 but no A/c!

Unfortuantely, has made no difference but I notice it is blue not green. Could it be the wrong part - how many different types are there!?

 

Tried cleaning the switch contacts as suggested in another thread but no joy - also confirmed that A/c light (& fans) does not come on when resister pack disconnected suggesting that the resister pack is related to A/c fans.

 

Is it likely the blue part is wrong? Thanks.

My fan is working on 1 & 2; 3 & 4 the blower works for about 30 seconds and the fades and stops, the AC has never worked, but the fan blowing would be nice, Ford say I need new Fan motor

hi all, i forgot about this resistor with everything that has happened over the last few weeks head in the shed anyway my resistor was green and i fitted it within ten mins max now all working great and the a/c now comes on and all is well many thanks to you all for your help but as to your problem mate if the fan is working on all 4 then it lies somewhere else they may be right if the fan is working but then slows down could be a number of things try a good car electrician he should be able to tell you thanks
