Brake Light Swich And Em Light

Occasionally my em light flashes , I had the car read at my local garage and he said it was an intermittent fault on the brake light switch , Are there two brake light switches one for the brake lights and one for the cruise control even though it hasnt got cruise control, which switch is going to be the culprit that needs replacing ??? The flashing light is so annoying !!!!!!! :ph34r:

I beleive one is used to stop fuelling the engine when braking, both need to be working correctly or you normally get the flashing glow plug light.

I have been in the car today and I have two switches one black one blue , the black one does the brake lights and works ok but the blue one looks as if someone has had it apart before and that one tests closed circuit all the time so it looks like that one is knackered.

Is that blue switch at the pedal?

Yeah the black one does the brake lights and the blue one is knackered and I assume that is the one causing the em light to come on .

IIRC the blue one is part of the cruise control :D
