tomy Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 Occasionally my em light flashes , I had the car read at my local garage and he said it was an intermittent fault on the brake light switch , Are there two brake light switches one for the brake lights and one for the cruise control even though it hasnt got cruise control, which switch is going to be the culprit that needs replacing ??? The flashing light is so annoying !!!!!!! Quote
johnb80 Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 I beleive one is used to stop fuelling the engine when braking, both need to be working correctly or you normally get the flashing glow plug light. Regards - JB Quote
tomy Posted April 2, 2006 Author Report Posted April 2, 2006 I have been in the car today and I have two switches one black one blue , the black one does the brake lights and works ok but the blue one looks as if someone has had it apart before and that one tests closed circuit all the time so it looks like that one is knackered. hampstead Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 Is that blue switch at the pedal? Thanks, Matt Quote
tomy Posted April 2, 2006 Author Report Posted April 2, 2006 Yeah the black one does the brake lights and the blue one is knackered and I assume that is the one causing the em light to come on . Quote
bigdaddy Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 IIRC the blue one is part of the cruise control :D Quote
