Outside Temp

2001 Zetec 2.3, all of a sudden outside temp guage showing much lower than realy is. Even getting frost warning in August mid day. Any help please. Something undeer warrenty (Aircon, Gearbox, stearing, driveshafts,etc)

At first sight, I'd say the sensor connection has become unreliable and is going to varying degrees of open circuit.

 

I don't really know where the sensor is (still waiting for my TIS CD), but it's likely to be underneath the car. So simple connector corrosion due to a bad seal could be likely.

 

If you have Climate Control, you could claim under the air-con (though my air-con warranty covers only the compressor :D ).

 

Perhaps some one else can fill you in on the exact location of the sensor.
