OK I've not been here for a while, but I'm in need of your help:

Went outside to start the Gal today and this is what happens:

Engine turns over, fires up and stops within 2 seconds (guess this is the ECU stopping the engine??)

Leave ignition on and glow plug warning light flashes on and off constantly after a few seconds.

Display on dashboard says "Garage Repair" or something.

I reckon it's used a large amount of oil this week as well.

Any clues anyone??

It sounds like the imobiliser, whats happening on the led in the drivers door?

Try unlocking with another key or unlocking via the door lock rather than the remote.

yeah i had that in my fiesta a couple of years back and the focus did it to, we took her back and they said they reset the computer/imobiliser thingy and it was ok after that, my wife as got a corsa now and it happened with that, she took it back and that had the exact same problem, it done after the repair and she used the spare key its worked ok ever since?

I had exactly same problem, it was the chip missing out of my key for the immobiliser, one of the kids had had it and took it apart ! Chip was never found, and I was in Scotland at the time (I live in Yorkshire)........to cut a long story short spare key was sent up and all was well. B)

Thanks everyone, it was the key that was dead, not the car!

At least I suppose a new key, programmed at the stealers, will only be about
