Guest yurir Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 Hi everyone, Would anyone know if the Galaxy climate control is like that on Scorpios i.e. it needed to be reset from time to time ? I ask this because after a flat battery, the system seems confused. When a low temp is set, it gives warm air, and when a high temp (28'C) is set, the compressor seems to kick in. So I'm thinking it's the control system that's confused, ratehr than a refrigeration problem. Any thoughts ? Many thanks, Yuri. Quote
Guest ANDY FITZGERALD Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 :o Me thinks this car is too dam complex, and no thought has been given to situations such as the one you describe.I have no reservations about the vehicle, just how unfriendly the sub systems are, and the cost to the owner, and needless hassle that these daft things cause. If it was complex issue that caused you the problem I might forgive FORD for the lack of user friendliness. Why and how does FORD justify the complexity of the vehicle sub-systems in use in a supposed family vehicle. I had previously owned a Rust Bucket Montego Coutrymen 2.0L diesel turbo and was reluctant to part with it, as it is so easy to maintain due to simple underlying design. Ive said it before, and I am unbiased,FORD are taking us all for mugs... end of story  Quote

Guest SA Intruder Posted September 18, 2003 Report Posted September 18, 2003 Try the diagnostic procedure (use search?) Or with the radio code available, disconnect battery for 10 minutes. Quote
Guest yurir Posted September 19, 2003 Report Posted September 19, 2003 Hi Rod, Unfortunately haven't had much time. I did briefly try pulling out likely fuses to apply a power-on-reset to the control system, but didn't manage to blank the CC display. Unfortunately I got the car without handbook or radio code, so I'm a little wary of a major power reset. Best wishes,Yuri. Quote
