Galaxy / Sharan Paint Codes

Hi does anyone know if Ford and VW used the same paint codes? Or in other words will a silver door from a Sharan match the rest of the paint from a Galaxy assuming they are both the same age.

Yes it should although some fading may have occurred from UV exposure, although this is not as much of a problem as it used to be.

Thanks, i am hoping that if they are a similar age then fading will be about the same, though sods law says one will have been kept in a garage and the other outside! Which part on the plate inside the drivers door is the paint code? Is it within the VIN or is it the 3 letters at the bottom of the plate?

The actual codes may be different, but as far as I am aware they only did one shade of silver. Bear in mind all the Galaxies, Alhambras and Sharans come off the end of the same paint-shop line in the same factory.....
