arryp0tter Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 :D got a 96 20ltr petrol for my sins lately the temp gauge and fuel gauges are playing tricks temp gauge tends to fluctuate violently and fuel gauge tells lies ( ran out last night with 44 miles remaining on trip lol put in 5quid from a can milage left went up to 114) fuel doesnt tell lies consitantly sometimes is ok seems the more fule the lower the temp gauge reads as well. in an older car id say the votage stabiliser had gone but do modern cars have em .... dont think so any views or questions please ask as wife is goin mad cos of this cheers Quote
johnb80 Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 I'm pretty sure they do still have voltage regulators, I would double check connections behind the instrument cluster as well as the pcb itself for cracks etc. Quote
Guest Nobbygezza Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 They do still have voltage stabilisers, but not as they used to be, they have either resistors soldered onto the back of the dashboard printed circuit board, or you will find it in the fuel or temperature gauge not sure which one. Quote
