deadpool2e Posted March 23, 2006 Author Report Posted March 23, 2006 i mean it seems as if some of the LCD display has died eg auto now reads t_-c . (it flashes as well but i know why that is) Quote
mumof4 Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 sorry, but i wouldnt have a clue then! :( Quote
chromedome Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 You could always try disconnecting the unit or battery for a few minutes to see if it resets itself. May have just become corrupt. Quote
muffking Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Have you tried pushing the screen to see if it moves the liquid around to make it read properly again (an old trick to get calculators to read properly). Quote
gregers Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 there was someone on ebay who could mend screens for vauxhalls but dont no about fords might be worth sending the guy an email he might be able to point you in a much cheaper direction then the stealers Quote
johnb80 Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Often on this sort of display, the connections are made via conductive rubber. If you're brave enough, take the unit out, take it apart, clean the pcb, rubber strip and display with meths. Re-assemble carefully and I would gamble 90% it will work. Regards - JB Quote
Guest galaxykid Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 Often on this sort of display, the connections are made via conductive rubber. Had the same problem on my clock ;) it only ever showed the correct time twice a day :( I stripped and rebuilt that, it worked slightly better afterwards but still had the odd segment missing from the display ;) Quote
deadpool2e Posted March 23, 2006 Author Report Posted March 23, 2006 , clean the pcb, rubber strip and display with meths. HI, What a PCB and does any one know how to get it out? Got a day off tomorrow and would like to try it then. Thanks Quote
