muffking Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 A motor factor near me has 2 x LH CAPTAIN SEATS, 2 X RH CAPTAIN SEATS & 1 X LH WITH NO ARMS (see pic below), but which one should I buy for my middle row? All are Quote
mumof4 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 How many seats you have in middle row? Quote
muffking Posted March 22, 2006 Author Report Posted March 22, 2006 No change to the standard seating positions. 2 at the front, 3 in the middle and 2 at the back. I was wondering if the seats with the arms are to wide for the middle row or if I'm supposed to fit the ones without arms, meaning that the ones with arms are only for rows of 2 seats? Quote
mumof4 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Ones with arms wont fit in the middle.Only ones with no arms. B) Im not sure if they will fit on the 3rd row either because of the compartment where the cd changer goes and the bit on the other side  Quote
muffking Posted March 22, 2006 Author Report Posted March 22, 2006 I presume that they are for the middle row when only 2 seats are fitted then 'cos it's not like they can be used in the front  Quote
mumof4 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 its for the 6 seater layout..so yes..only for when 2 seats in the middle  also the one without arms should have a lapbelt as its a middle row middle seat without the double seatbelt clips for the overhead belt Quote
Andrew T Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Also bear in mind that a chair with 2 Arms will not fit in the rearmost position on the passenger side because of the intrusion of the Heater unit. Factory supplied six seaters come with a single Armrest only on the seat fitted in that position. Quote
muffking Posted March 22, 2006 Author Report Posted March 22, 2006 This might not go down very well so please excuse me. I just rang the motorfactor after trying to haggle on the price and they said that the seats with arms fit the middle row as long as the centre seat doesn't have arms. They also reckon that they can be fitted in the rear too. I managed to get them to commit to Quote
mumof4 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 they wont fit..the arms will push against the doors Quote
mumof4 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 and i def dont think they will fit in the rear Quote
muffking Posted March 22, 2006 Author Report Posted March 22, 2006 ok, when I turn up on Monday I'll use it as an excuse for them to sell me the one without arms for Quote
mumof4 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 you could try fitting them before you buy..but i dont honestly think they will fit..you can slap me down on mon eve if im wrong! :D Quote
Gadgetoid Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 I have these kids seats and they are the bees knees.I think you may be able to take the arms off fairly easily ( someone was asking how to put them back on 6 months ago as they had fallen off spontaneously). You could check them to see if there are obvious nuts or bolts at the attachment point. If you are using the fold down baby seat in the middle position, then as it has its own belts you can put a LH or RH chair in this position - but you won't be able to use an adult seatbelt for one of these though. Dally Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 and i def dont think they will fit in the rear MO4 As someone has said earlier, in the 3rd row, on the cd changer side, you will be able to fit a seat with armrests on both sides, however, on the heater compartment side, the chair can have only one armrest only (in the centre) - that is how the six seater is configured.
