djx Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 used vag-com today and very impressed. it gave me the foolowing code but i dont know what the problem could be, any help. 1 fault found00533 - idle speed regulation 14-00 - adaptation limit (add) exceeded its a galaxy 2.8 v6 1996 vintage Quote
dipsomaniac Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 00533 is idle speed control (ISC) - intake leak/blockage, throttle valve tight/sticking, IAC valve or ISC actuator/position sensor. sorry can't be anymore specific. Quote
djx Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 do you know where im looking at for these then Quote
dipsomaniac Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 are you experiencing any problems with the car? I am not an expert on vag-com but if you are not experiencing any problems - can you clear the DTC and see if it comes back? reading fault codes can sometimes cause undue concern. Quote
djx Posted March 20, 2006 Author Report Posted March 20, 2006 nah, i cleared the code but it comes back straight away. car runs perfectly though?? Quote
dipsomaniac Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 if car is running ok i wouldn't worry too much. i am sure that most of us are driving around with at least one stored error code. as most things under the bonnet of the v6 are a nightmare to access i wouldn't start dismantling too much. as said earlier if you want to investigate further i would just make a visual check of any hoses/looms around the throttle body/idle speed contol valve.
