did you report him to ebay???and if you paid via paypal i think you have 90 days.

with ebay i think it is 60 days.

did you cantact the guy to let him know when you first got it?

he does state that you must test it within 5 days and report if not working.

he also states that he is not responsible if it is not compatable with your vehicle, or for incompatable wiring.

his terms are fair.im sorry but i always read small print and investigate if parts will fit before bidding.

what name you go under on ebay??

sorry, but i buy and sell onebay and am a fanatic

Went through both eBay and Paypal, both not interested as goods turned up and worked OK, when i did get it working!

So completly stuffed.

Having spent a fair bit of time in the small claims court (as the claimant I must add), I don't feel you have a leg to stand on with this one. If I were defending myself against you I would simply state my clear terms and conditions and that the unit was working when despatched, how do I know you havent damaged it / installed it incorrectly?

I know it's annoying and I feel you've backed a loser here but cut your losses, sell the unit on ebay again as not working correctly and at least then you will minimise your losses.

I put a bid in for a MFD from this Ebay seller the other day! Luckily as it turns out, I was outbid, think I'll just go get a Tom Tom... :(

im sorry but he clearly states his terms.test the unit within 5 buisiness days of delivery..if any probs he will send it away to be tested,,if faulty you will get a full refund.
Posted

He also clearly states that easy to fit!

But that wasn't the case and when i did get the unit to power up the SAT NAV Capability was very inaccurate, not really worth it at the end of the day.

So i purchased a TomTom 700

I agree - except to say that just because he staes his terms doesn't mean they are fair or legal (as it happens they seem to be in this case but) just stating them doesn't mean it's law

true bigj...when i sell on ebay..i give 7 days for returns.5 days is not long for expensive equipment, but you have to read the terms and conditions of sale and research as to what you need to fit things if they are going to be fitted.

ive just bought a dvd player for the car from ebay..i spent a fair few hours finding out what i would need if anything to get it fixed in the car.i read feed back..i check return policies..when im going to spend a lot of money..i look into it carefully..that way you dont get caught out.

thats ebay bid and pray <_<

but the ford to iso could be purchased quickly and easly and then you could have tested the unit fully in the time allocated and as for failing after 4 days the seller could not be held responsable under any time scale as it work prior to this so would have worked when he tested it

sorry but for once with the seller on this one :(

I know its a bit late now but when I was checking out what was involved

in installing an MFD I came across this guy on a few forums and not a lot

of people had very good things to say about him

I could understand if the unit worked all OK, but it didn't the SAT NAV capability was completly rubbish never worked.

So i could appreciate that you are on the sellers side for this one, i'm just trying to stop other people being misled by false claims of an easy install.

It's not; there are a lot of things that need to be done to make an MFD work fully and being a novice 5 days was not enough! I signed up for this and read the T&C but f you also read the Unit still din't work even when running.

So i reiterate this guy is a con artist by selling goods by defrauding!

I can understand your frustration but may I respectfully suggest that when you want to accuse someone of being a con artist you add 'In my opinion' in front of it. I spend a lot of times in model flying circle forums and one forum got very close to being sued for hosting text that was deformation of character. I don't know who owns this board or even if they look in, if a summons dropped through their letterbox I would think they'd be pretty hacked off.

just to clarify one thing ALL the o.e based sat navs are from vw therefore require some alteration to fit in a galaxy that does not have iso leads in from factory and if the standard ford to iso is perchased then for testing perposes it is a five minute job to plug in and play for test

note this is for the double din and iso plugged sat nav and not the din and half that is a ford unit

so if purchasing an o.e unit ask if it is a din and half or double din cause that will save such an incedent happening again

regards steve hope this helps
