Hi there,

Anyone get stranded in the drifting snow in Scotland at the weekend?

We were travelling back from Kent to Peebles, Scottish Borders on Sunday.

We managed to get within 2mls of our junction for Moffat (A701) on the M74 before joining the back of the jam. All the M6 overhead gantries had said the M74 was shut and we would not even make it to Moffat. Hopeless information those things.

Got off at Moffat and had great fun getting over the Devil's Beeftub road to Peebles. Down to a single lane, abandoned cars like tombstones and snow / ice everywhere.

Winter tyres did it and we got home safely :P

Still snowing now but roads ok. Looks pretty on Border hills so if you're thinking of a quick break then now is the time (my bit for VisitScotland :D )

Regards
