bargaingirl Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Hi guys am new to all this... here goes.....bought Galaxy in 2002 had air con problems straight away not blowing out cold air, been fixed a few times by the same garage but then moved.. problem re occured was fixed last April while still under warrenty but 3 months later totally packed up air compressor seized and clutch sheared off.. unfortunatley just out of warrenty ford head office will pay 70% towards cost of replacing the system but its gonna cost Quote
mumof4 Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 have you tried trading standards?? sorry to hear about all the probs.if it was fixed under warrenty..surely the repair work has a 12month guarentee??? Quote
jkspoff Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Work carried out under warranty is only guaranteed upto the end of the warranty period, whether that be 3 years or 1 day. Do a seach for 'air con' and you'll find that air con probs have effected most us at some stage unfortunately, and is probably one of the most written about subjects on this forum ! Quote
gazza007 Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Get on to Ford Cust Services. I had 9 months of trouble with mine. Eventually SEAT got another dealer to fix even though it went out of warranty. You have to be persistant. If you don't ask you don't get!!!Good luck Quote
Guest jaseNEWBUYER Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006  get on to trading standards ,then try ford. good luck.............were praying for you! either that or a miracle will do.................air con on gals we certainly need a miracle???????? best of luck!!!!!!! Quote
bargaingirl Posted March 8, 2006 Author Report Posted March 8, 2006 thanks guys for all your advice have already been to trading standards... they just say persist...it is keeping me up at night again... fords offered me 70% towards the cost of a potential Quote
bargaingirl Posted March 9, 2006 Author Report Posted March 9, 2006 also why would the air compressor seize and cause the clutch to shear off... surely this has to be down to lack of lubricant ...how long would this take ?? perhaps they forgot to replace the lubricant after they fixed it ...who knows!!!!
